Gann Family Historical Society was founded in 1989, by a small group of Gann descendants. It grew to a much greater membership, and in 1996 the Gann Historical Society & Library, Inc. was formed, and the activities continued under that organization.

We now have approximately 300 active memberships, some of which are family memberships which include more than one person. We have an annual meeting, at which the members renew old friendships, make new friendships, attend meetings and lectures. Some of the meeting locations were Johnson City, TN, Kansas City, MO, Knoxville, TN, Irving, TX, Winston Salem, NC, Tulsa, OK, Hot Springs, AR, Atlanta, GA and Denver, CO, Roanoke, VA, Lubbock, TX, Tulsa, OK. Our 2004 meeting was in Missouri at The Lake of the Ozarks.  You can see that the locations are widely separated. Join and plan to attend our next annual meeting.

Our members are mailed a quarterly publication entitled: "the Gann Gazette". It contains approximately 25 pages per issue packed with interesting articles and family information, all submitted by our members. Join and contribute an article about your ancestors. In the past the Gazette has won national honors in Genealogical publications.

In addition, the organization publishes "The Registry", which contains our data base. Our data base contains family information on over 47,000 individuals. Perhaps, your ancestors are among these. The Registry, published on a computer disk, is available to our members at a nominal cost.
