Over the years, various individuals have been erroneously listed as children of Ignatious Nathan Gann.  Unfortunately, much of that information is incorrect.  Nathan married four times.  The name of his first wife, the mother of the first 5 children, is unknown.  His second wife was Susan, mother of the next 8 children; there are no children from the third wife, Mary; the 4th wife was Sarah Delaney who had 6 children.

The names and dates of the children in the above table are the result of many years of research, compiled from  various original records.  The authors researched in every county courthouse in six states where these 19 children lived as adults and made these determinations from the data in original records found in various court documents and other records.   Many original records used in this research were found in the loose court papers of Washington County, TN.  These papers are housed in the Archives of Appalachia, in Johnson City, TN.
